Our Second CSA Season is Here!

Hello all and welcome to the 2nd season of the Bronx CSA!  We hope that the good weather is inspiring you to think about all of the fresh fruit and vegetables to come this growing season!  We have just met with our farmers and they are just starting to get planting, which means it’s time to sign up for your share!

Our vegetable farmer, Felix Gonzalez, is with us for our second season. Felix is busy at his farm, Fresh Radish Farm, planting the second harvest for our CSA. He is very excited to get growing, and we all have our fingers crossed for a bountiful and beautiful harvest!

Great news!  We will be offering an optional fruit share this season for the first time.  We know that many of you requested this and so we worked hard to make this happen.  Our fruit share will be provided by Hepworth Farms.  Hepworth Farms is a 7th generation family owned farm. It is located in Milton, New York on the banks of the Hudson River. The farm is owned and operated by Amy Hepworth, Gail Hepworth and Gerry Greco.  Read more about Hepworth Farms here.

We are also working to bring an egg share to our CSA this season.  Stay tuned to hear more about our efforts with the egg share!

Please remember that fruit and eggs are optional, but if you are interested in purchasing any of the optional shares, you must first purchase a vegetable share. After you’ve sign up for your veggie share, you will receive information about these extra items and how to purchase them.

If you’d like to sign up for your vegetable share, click here to download the 2012 Membership Agreement or contact us at BronxCSANYC@gmail.com, or call us at 212-825-0028.  And be sure to tell your friends and family about where they can get fresh, affordable, locally grown vegetables and fruits right in their own neighborhood!
